The geography department is one of the departments in the prestigious King Abdulaziz University which has a prominent role in the rehabilitation of many national cadres who reached the top centers in the kingdom. The department has successfully joined the development of the cognitive domain in general and geographical information in particular supported by its national staff and faculty members who got the upper testimony from several domestic and foreign universities as well as a selection of outstanding cadres of contractors from some close Arab countries. The department has proceeded in the development of study plans and programs. It has created a unique infrastructure including improved computer hardware, advanced programs in GIS, remote sensing systems and statistical analysis and other necessary software used to effectively train students on the latest developments in the field of geographical analysis. In addition, using technology creates a conducive environment for faculty members to conduct their research with the aid of such modern techniques.
