The Link between the Department and the College Goals and Mission

  The department is linked to the objectives of the College and its mission in two areas:

1. Community Services: through preparing graduates with modern geographical specializations  to meet the requirements of the labor market and developing modern geographical thinking and its scientific applications for the benefit of the society in various areas of  life.

2.  Scientific Research Services: through conducting research, studies and participation in
symposiums and scientific conferences, and in particular the activities of the Saudi and Gulf Geographical Association as  .well as working to raise the level of student computer skills and its applications through a variety of courses that include computer applications.
 

Admission Conditions of the Department:

Admission conditions are related to the general conditions for admission in the college.

 

 

Graduation Requirements:

 

In order for a student to get a bachelor's degree from the Department of Geography in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities/ Girls’ Branch in Al-Faisaliah/ King Abdul-Aziz University, she must complete graduation requirements, which include university and college requirements in addition to the requirements of the specialization in the department, which amounts to 130 units of study.

Career Opportunities for Graduates:

 

The plan of the department -through its four braches- aims at expanding various job opportunities so that each branch serves a specific area more specialized than others. In addition, there are a number of shared resources that serve all specialized branches as basic knowledge. It also provides important background knowledge of jobs that do not require specific specialty or training.

 
The following areTT some areas where the department graduates can work:

1 -. Teaching Geography at all levels of public education.

 . 2. Working in many government sectors, which have female branches such as municipal    affairs and planning.

 3. Working in various sectors (governmental or private) that use geographical information systems  .(GIS)(GIS).

 . 4. Working in female branches concerned with the environment and choosing activity sites.
